Exciting times around here as you’ll see in the notes from our January meeting, now posted online in our evolving archive. Our next first-Wednesday-of-the-month meeting is at 7 p.m. on Wed. Feb. 6 at Harbourside Cohousing in downtown Sooke. As ever, everyone with an interest in joining us in the great leap forward (AKA a sane, sustainable transition to a more harmonious, balanced way of living on planet earth) is welcome to attend.
Speaking of transitions, the District of Sooke is counting on strong public engagement in its community planning processes this year as Sooke’s Official Community Plan is given an overhaul.
The District is hosting two #PlanSookeNow open houses this week as it revamps its Transportation and Parks & Trails Masterplans. The first is today (Wednesday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Edward Milne Community School. The second will follow on Sunday, 2 to 6 p.m. at SEAPARC.
Or you’re welcome to share specific ideas online using an app that allows one to drop recommended parks, trails, connector roads, bike lanes, crosswalks, kayak access points and more onto a Sooke map. Click these links for access to the respective Transportation and Parks & Trail surveys.
