2024 Steering Committee

At Transition Sooke’s recent 2022 Annual General Meeting on March 12, 2023, the following members were elected to the Steering Committee of the Sooke Transition Town Society (Transition Sooke):

• David Merner
• Alan Dolan
• Paula Johanson
• Lily Mah-Sen
• Jo Phillips
• Gord Wallace

The Steering Committee oversees the organization, manages affairs and ensures that different tasks are done. Unlike many societies, decisions at Transition Sooke are made by the Active Members, and not by the Steering Committee. At the March 19, 2022 AGM, members approved new bylaws that reflect our organizational structure. Those bylaws were approved by the Societies Branch and are posted here.

The bylaws of the Society designate four officers on the Steering Committee — Co-ordinator, Secretary, Treasurer, and Communications. Duties of those officers can be found here.

Meetings of the Steering Committee are open to all active members of Transition Sooke. Contact us to find out the date and time of the next meeting.
